Artist Selection Process for the Windgate Foundation Artist Residency Program
Each year, a selection committee from 成人直播 School of Design and the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art will review the work of emerging and established artists and select two individuals (one per semester) to be awarded the four-week Artist Residency at 成人直播.
What to Expect
The Windgate Foundation Resident Artist will be embedded in several classes and will receive a stipend of $10,000.
The artist must be available throughout the entire semester to:
- Respond to time-sensitive email correspondence throughout and preceding the program;
- Work with the School of Art and Design Director to develop a project that will enable the classes to acquire the knowledge, skills, and technique required to complete their respective projects; and
- Help/direct/be present for final installation/opening night/other culminating events.
Donating Work as a Teaching Tool
The artists selected will donate a work or portion of an edition to the School of Art and Design's Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art at the conclusion of the residency. This will prove to be the capstone of the interaction between students and artist and show how students developed their concepts. This gives the artist in resident a mentorship role, while also working on personal pieces over the course of the residency.
Donated works will become a part of the Zuckerman Museum of Art permanent collection and will be utilized as a teaching tool, furthering learning engagement and culture enrichment opportunities across our campus. Selected artists will develop a new work with the support of an instructor of record in the studio. They will work independently while meeting with students to support their conceptual and material development.
