Policies
The following policies apply to all students and alumni who use the various services offered by The Department of Career Planning & Development.
Please note that the term 鈥渟tudent鈥 refers to any student or alumnus who participates in On鈥揅ampus Recruiting, regardless of their enrollment status at 成人直播.

Late Arrival
A student will be considered a late arrival if they show up for their appointment with a Career and Internship Advisor more than 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. If the student has called to let us know that they are running late (prior to the end of the 15鈥搈inute grace period), the CIA/staff member will determine if there is sufficient time remaining to effectively cover what is needed and complete the appointment by the end of the original appointment time. The CIA will then either meet with the student or reschedule. This will NOT be counted under the no-show/late policy.
If the student does not arrive or call to notify us that they will be late within 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, they will be asked to reschedule their appointment and the original appointment will be counted as having violated the no-show/late no-show policy.
The Late Arrival policy for regular appointments will not be strictly enforced during the first two weeks of the Fall Semester, due to the increased traffic and difficulty with parking. A student with an appointment for a digitally recorded practice interview (mock interview) will be considered a late arrival if they show up as little as one minute past the scheduled appointment time. The student will need to schedule another appointment for the mock interview. The Late Arrival policy for mock interviews will be enforced at all times throughout the semester.

"No Show"
The following policy applies to all students and alumni who schedule an appointment with a Career Planning and Development (CPD) staff member.
The No-Show/Late Policy applies:
- When a student/alumnus does not appear for an appointment that has not been canceled at least 1 hour in advance of the appointment time. Appointments should be canceled with as much advance notice as possible by contacting Career Planning and Development at 470-578-6555.
- When a student/alumnus arrives more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time
of a Career and Internship Advisor/staff member appointment.
- If the student calls in within the 15-minute grace period, the CIA/staff member will determine if there is sufficient time remaining to complete the appointment and will either meet with the student or reschedule. This will not be counted under the no-show/late policy.
- Students who are going to be late should contact Career Planning and Development at 470-578-6555 immediately upon realizing they will be late.
No-Show / Late Policy:
Upon the first no-show/late arrival, the Department of Career Planning and Development will email the student a warning regarding the suspension of services following a second occurrence. With a second occurrence, the student will be notified by email that the ability to schedule appointments with CPD staff members has been suspended for the remainder of the term.
Eligibility for services will be reinstated on the first day of classes of the following semester.
No-Show/Late offenses are cumulative throughout one semester only.

Job Shadow Program No-Show Policy
The following policy applies to all students and alumni who have applied, been approved, and have been matched with at least one company in a given semester of the Owl Job Shadow Program.
The No-Show Policy applies:
When a student/alumnus does not appear for their job shadow appointment that has not been canceled at least 2 weeks before their job shadow appointment. Only in the case of an emergency should a job shadow appointment be canceled. In such a case, the appointment should be canceled with as much advance notice as possible by contacting Career Planning and Development at 470-578-2724.
Students who are going to be late should contact Career Planning and Development at 470-578-2724 immediately upon realizing they will be late, as well as their job shadow site contact.
CallNo-Show Policy:
Upon the first no-show/late arrival, the Department of Career Planning and Development will email the student that the ability to schedule appointments with CPD staff members and the ability to participate in another Owl Job Shadow Day has been suspended until the following actions have been taken.
The student must submit an apology letter addressed to the employer, to the Department of Career Planning and Development. Once the letter has been approved, the student must send it directly to the employer. Once these actions have been taken, the student鈥檚 services will be reinstated.
No-Show/Late offenses are cumulative throughout one semester only.

Rescheduling / Cancellations
When a student reschedules/cancels the same appointment twice, it is considered a first offense under the no-show policy. If the student reschedules or cancels two more times, that will be the second offense and their access to the Department's one on one advising will be revoked for the remainder of that semester. Please note that calling to reschedule/cancel after your scheduled appointment time will be considered a no-show of the original appointment.
Please note that the Rescheduling/Canceling policy works in combination with the standard No Show policy. For example, a no-show and an appointment rescheduled/canceled twice (or any other combination of the two appointment policies) would be your first and second offense.

On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) No-Show Policy
Students who do not show up for scheduled on-campus interviews, and fail to contact the Department of Career Planning and Development or the employer directly ahead of time, are in violation of the late cancellation/no- show policy and will have their Handshake access revoked.
To have your Handshake access restored, you must follow this appeal process:- Write a short apology paragraph to the employer representative (interviewer) explaining
why it was necessary to cancel or why you did not show up for your interview, and
send it to careerctr@kennesaw.edu for review and approval. You must send your email
apology to us for approval before it is sent to the employer/recruiter. Career Planning
and Development will forward your approved apology email directly to the employer
and will reinstate your Handshake access.
E-mail - Failure to follow these instructions will result in your Handshake account remaining
blocked. Repeat offenses will carry additional consequences:
- First Offense: excluded from all on-campus interviewing activities (including other interviews already scheduled) until you have followed the above instructions.
- Second Offense: exclusion from all on-campus interviewing activities for the entire semester, with no appeal process.
- Violations in consecutive semesters will result in a permanent block from participating in any on-campus interviewing activities.
Please Note: When you do not respond to an employer request after you have submitted your resume for a position, it may permanently affect future recruiting at Kennesaw State for all students. Please be considerate of your fellow students and honor the commitments you make.

Handshake Privacy Policy and User Participation Agreement
The Department of Career Planning and Development (DCPD) at 成人直播 is proud to offer Handshake, a web-based system for employers to post full-time, internship, co-op, and part-time job opportunities for current 成人直播 students and alumni. This system allows you to:
- Schedule appointments with DCPD staff
- Search for job postings based on criteria you select
- Become eligible for resume referrals and on-campus interviews
- Track your job search, including jobs listings to which you have applied
- Store multiple job search documents (resumes, cover letters, writing samples, unofficial transcripts, etc.)
- Send your resume and other application materials to employers
- Receive announcements about upcoming events
- Follow employers and add notes to those employers to help you track your progress
- 成人直播 for internship and cooperative education credit
- Report your job search success
Participation AgreementPlease Note: Students and Alumni registering and/or submitting their resumes through our online job services system are agreeing to comply with all aspects of the Participation Agreement. Failure to adhere to any aspect of this agreement may result in the permanent removal of your privileges with the Department of Career Planning and Development.
YOU AGREE TO:
- Proper Usage
- Recognize that access to the system is granted to you specifically. You agree to not share your password, and to log onto the system only as yourself. It is your responsibility to guard against unauthorized use of services in your name, and you are responsible for all actions occurring under your login ID.
- Accurate Information
- Certify that the information found on your profile and your resume is truthful and accurate. Further, do not lie or "stretch the truth" during any part of the job search process.
- Professional Conduct
- Conduct your job search with honesty and integrity (review the Integrity Statement section for more information). Be professional during all interactions with employers. Only interview with employers you are sincerely interested in working for and whose requirements you meet. 鈥淧ractice鈥 interviewing is misleading to employers and prevents sincerely interested candidates from using those interview slots. End your job search immediately upon accepting a job offer (review the Offer Acceptances policy for more information). Professional conduct further includes:
- Being punctual for events and interviews for which I am signed up.
- Wearing appropriate business attire
- Providing appropriate follow-up correspondence
- Conducting yourself in a courteous and respectful fashion in all forms of communication (written, oral, text, etc.)
- The Department of Career Planning and Development can provide assistance with your professional development if you are unsure of any area.
- Conduct your job search with honesty and integrity (review the Integrity Statement section for more information). Be professional during all interactions with employers. Only interview with employers you are sincerely interested in working for and whose requirements you meet. 鈥淧ractice鈥 interviewing is misleading to employers and prevents sincerely interested candidates from using those interview slots. End your job search immediately upon accepting a job offer (review the Offer Acceptances policy for more information). Professional conduct further includes:
- Follow Event Policy
- Event policies are established by event. Review the event policy or code of conduct documents in the Resource section of Handshake so that you know what to expect and what is expected of you.
- Exercise Caution
- Acknowledge that while the Department of Career Planning and Development makes every effort to allow only legitimate employers to post legitimate job openings in the system, it is not possible for our office to perform a complete check into every organization's background or to take responsibility for the actions of employees of individual companies who list jobs with 成人直播.
- While job postings are screened by our office, you are advised to contact us if you have questions regarding the legitimacy or validity of the employer or position posted. It is up to you to use reasonable caution when entering personal information on resumes and your profile. We share job information with students and alumni of Kennesaw State University from interested employers. In the unlikely event that a problem is encountered with a company listed through our office, please notify the Department of Career Planning and Development promptly. Review the Avoiding Job Scams resource in Handshake for further information on ways to safeguard your job search.
- Grant Access
- Give permission to the Department of Career Planning and Development to provide your job search materials to prospective employers, unless you otherwise note your preferences in the User Settings area of your Handshake account.
- Institutional Reporting
- Recognize that the Department of Career Planning and Development will need to utilize student information for the purposes of reporting to university officials, employer requests, and government reports. No confidential information will be shared, individual user information will not be made available, and all data will be reported in aggregate form.
- Honor Commitments
- Pledge to honor all commitments made for the job search process, including but not limited to appointments with DCPD staff, on-campus interviews, and event RSVPs. See No-Show Policy for more details.
- Consequences for Non-Compliance
- Accept that failure to adhere to any point in this agreement may result in the removal of your privileges with the DCPD.

Alumni Career Advising
Alumni have lifetime access to all events and workshops hosted by the department, including access to the Handshake platform. Access to one-on-one career advising appointments will end two years after the alumni's graduation date. All late and no-show policies apply to alumni as well.

Students and Alumni at 成人直播 use Handshake for career resources, career events, and finding job postings for internships, co-ops, part-time, full-time, & on-campus positions.
