成人直播 is now accepting applications for full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track Collegiate Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty positions in the University Libraries that begins as early as October 1, 2024. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia, and will serve the following subject areas: humanities, social sciences, or science/math.

 

Responsibilities include the following, at a minimum:

• Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes.
• Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways
• Develop and maintain digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses
• Work with students to develop advanced level library research skills
• Develop academic enrichment opportunities to support advanced student and faculty research
• Develop and maintain partnerships with 成人直播 units, departments, centers, etc., that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development. Support university research teams' activities and initiatives.
• Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship and advanced research support
• Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.
• Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

 

Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, these positions will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. These positions will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

 

Required Qualifications Include

• An earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• A minimum of 1 year of instruction experience

Preferred Qualifications Include

• A minimum of two years of experience working as a librarian in an academic library or related institution or equivalent experience
• A record of professional service
• A record of developing scholarship within academic librarianship or a subject specialty

Responsibilities include the following, at a minimum:

• Coordinate and improve a tiered reference workflow for a single service point model that supports excellent information delivery services.
• Develop a training program that empowers staff to problem solve and conduct appropriate reference interviews.
• Maintain and coordinate all virtual reference services including chat and FAQs.
• Manage statistical reporting system and analyze and evaluate reference services.
• Provide reference, circulation, and general information support to the 成人直播 community in multiple formats (in person, virtual, etc.)
• Participate in unit leadership team to identify issues, collaborate on projects, and inform strategic direction and planning.
• Engage in service to the University Libraries, the campus, or the profession.
• Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Job Summary
成人直播 is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Acquisitions Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty position in the University Libraries that begins as early as March 2025. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia and will work within the Resource Strategy and Management Unit of the University Libraries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the acquisition, renewal, and maintenance of electronic database package subscriptions, individual serials, and standing orders
• Create and update ledgers. Monitor expenditures in the ILS and 成人直播 fiscal systems and create reports as needed. 
• Provide updates at monthly Library Budget Meeting and Unit Meeting
• Negotiate license agreements for the University Libraries' electronic resources.
• Serve as the University Libraries' primary contact between vendors and other campus entities such as the 成人直播 Office of Fiscal Services and the 成人直播 Division of Legal Affairs.
• Work with the Collections Strategy Librarian on purchasing decisions and future direction of the collection development
• Develop and maintain partnerships with 成人直播 units, departments, centers, etc. that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development. Support university research teams' activities and initiatives.  
• Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship, acquisitions, and collection development 
• Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession. 
• Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Required Qualifications

• An earned terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related discipline is required.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills 
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an academic library
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic library databases and their coverage
• Familiarity with negotiating licenses and managing e-resources 
• Experience in maintaining effective relationships with vendors and participating in consortia purchasing agreements
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Experience with the processes of procurement, contracts, or licensing
