As CEO of Pattillo Construction Corp. and a proud Kennesaw State alumna, Bree Pattillo is making a lasting impact with a $600,000 scholarship endowment in the university鈥檚 College of Architecture and Construction Management (CACM) and Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET) through her foundation, Guanacaste Ventures.

Her gift supports undergraduates in need, helping shape the next generation of leaders in construction management, architecture and engineering. It鈥檚 more than just financial support; it鈥檚 a tribute to the values instilled in her by her grandfather, HG Pattillo. He was both her father figure and a guiding force in her life. Raised on a cotton farm, he taught her the importance of grit and opportunity.

Having supported numerous students through his own foundation, Pattillo鈥檚 grandfather also taught her that education is the key to unlocking doors that lead to greater possibilities.

鈥淲hen someone gives you an opportunity, you take it,鈥 said Pattillo, recounting her grandfather鈥檚 words.

Pattillo grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her years spent at Kennesaw State helped solidify her belief in the power of education to change lives.

"I transferred to Kennesaw State, and it was a game-changer for me," said Pattillo, who earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business. 鈥淜ennesaw State gave me the opportunity to connect with my professors and learn in a way I hadn鈥檛 experienced before.鈥

Pattillo's philanthropic spirit is evident not only in her gift but also in the way she approaches business. As the chief executive of Pattillo Construction, a company that has been in her family for 75 years, she navigates the challenges of the industry with the same tenacity her grandfather exemplified. Under her leadership, Pattillo Construction has thrived, adapting to economic waves and shifting markets.

鈥淐onstruction is about more than just buildings,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about creating opportunities, providing jobs, and supporting communities.鈥

Hazem Rashed-Ali, CACM dean, expressed his gratitude for Pattillo鈥檚 generous contribution.

鈥淏ree Pattillo鈥檚 donation is not only a financial investment. It is a profound statement about the power of mentorship, community, and education,鈥 he said. 鈥淗er commitment to Kennesaw State and our students helps to pave the way for the next generation of architects, engineers, and construction leaders.鈥

SPCEET Dean Lawrence Whitman also expressed admiration for Pattillo鈥檚 commitment, highlighting the significant impact of her generosity on students in need.

鈥淏ree exhibits grit and provides as an excellent role model for our students,鈥 Whitman said. 鈥淢any of our students have some grit but lack the resources to complete their degrees. Thanks to this generous gift, now more students can complete their degrees and start their careers without debt.鈥

As a woman in a male-dominated industry, Pattillo has fought for her place at the table. Her ability to overcome challenges and establish herself as a leader has not only strengthened her position but also served as an inspiration for other women striving to break into the field.

鈥淚t鈥檚 about finding your voice,鈥 she said. 鈥淵ou stand taller, you speak up, and you make sure you鈥檙e heard. My advice to other women in the industry is to keep following your dream, even when the road gets rocky. It鈥檚 tough, but it鈥檚 worth it.鈥

Beyond business, Pattillo鈥檚 commitment to Kennesaw State remains a central focus. Through her work on the Coles College of Business Advisory Board and other initiatives, she continues to build relationships that benefit both her company and the university.

鈥淭he partnerships I've built at Kennesaw State have been invaluable, and I want to continue to support the students and faculty here in any way I can,鈥 she said.

Pattillo鈥檚 legacy of giving is already making waves as more than 75 students have benefited from her scholarship, and she hopes to see that number grow.

Looking ahead, Pattillo envisions expanding both her company鈥檚 reach and her impact on education. With offices now in South Carolina and projects as far as Ohio, Pattillo Construction is positioning itself for continued growth. Similarly, her relationship with Kennesaw State is one she plans to nurture for years to come.

鈥淭he partnership with 成人直播 is just beginning,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 look forward to seeing how we can grow together and continue to support the next generation of leaders.鈥
