Types of Outreach we Provide:
Interview/Course Assignments – A student may submit a request to meet with a counselor to conduct an interview to complete a course assignment.
Instructor Classroom Presentation Request – A staff or faculty member may submit a request to have a member of our team provide a presentation for a lecture or course period. Course instructors MUST be present for all classroom presentations.
Standard Presentation – Any faculty, staff, or student can request any of our current workshops listed below:
- Mental Health 101 (30-45 minutes) - This presentation is focused on identifying the components of mental
health, how we utilize them, how they impact our everyday lives, and a few good mental
health practices that can be implemented.
- Asking for a Friend (30-45 minutes) - This presentation is designed to help individuals understand and
talk about mental health with others. Topics addressed include warning signs, how
to approach talking about mental health, ways to be supportive of a friend or loved
one experiencing mental health challenges, and resources for seeking out help.
- CPS Services (30 - 45 minutes) - This presentation is your one stop shop for all things Counseling
and Psychological Services at ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥! Topics include a comprehensive list of our services,
description of confidentiality, how to make an appointment, and much more!
Customized Outreach Requests - Any faculty, staff, or student can request a collaboration with a CPS staff member. Such requests must be received at least 4 weeks in advance of the presentation date, as they may require planning time between the requestor and the presenter to assure the achievement of desired learning outcomes.
Peer Counselors/Wellnest - Any faculty, staff, or student can request a collaboration with our student peer
counselors. Peer counselors provide Mental Health 101 presentations and tabling at
campus events.
NOTE: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Question. Persuade. Refer. (QPR), stress, or anxiety management workshops are now offered through Health Promotions & Wellness. For more information about QPR training, please contact Chelsea Williams. cwill733@kennesaw.edu.
